It is planned to hold bilateral meetings between the speaker and Norwegian officials, where ways to increase aid to Ukraine will be discussed.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk is on an official visit to Norway on May 16-18. This was reported by the press service of the parliament on Tuesday.
“The visit will take place to implement the agreements reached between Ukraine and the Scandinavian states in the matter of effectively countering the aggression from the Russian Federation, in particular, the implementation of the decisions of the Ukrainian-Nordic summit held in May 3 in Helsinki,” the report said.
It was noted that Stefanchuk was invited by the President of the Storting (Parliament) of Norway, Masoud Garakhkani.
The Rada speaker’s stay program in Norway provides bilateral meetings with Norwegian officials, where ways to increase aid to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression will be discussed.
In addition, it is planned that the chairman of the Rada will visit a hospital in Oslo, where wounded Ukrainian soldiers are being rehabilitated, and will meet with representatives of the Ukrainian community.
Also, during the visit, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada and the Storting will be signed.
