Along with pilot training, cooperation with other countries will be carried out to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.
The UK will begin training Ukrainian pilots. Work is being done on the possible provision of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This was announced by the British government on Monday, May 15.
“This summer, we will begin the initial phase of basic training for Ukrainian pilots. We will adapt the program used by British pilots to provide Ukrainians with piloting skills that they can apply to other type of aircraft,” the statement said.
It is noted that this exercise coincides with the UK’s efforts to work with other countries to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, which Ukraine has chosen as its best option.
Earlier on Monday, it became known that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the UK, where he will meet with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The meeting is expected to result in the announcement of a new military aid package.
