The aggressor country Russia convened an informal meeting of the members of the UN Security Council to discuss the alleged “harassment” of the UOC-MP in Ukraine. About that know Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kislitsa.
In particular, Moscow invited people close to the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to participate in the online event. Among the “speakers” were the director of the non-governmental organization “Foundation to Combat Injustice” Mira Terada, Archpriest of UOC-MP Andrey Pavlenko, Bishop of UOC-MP Gideon.
The event was not broadcast on official UN sources. Ukraine did not participate in the Russian event.
According to Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Sergei Kislitsa, this is how Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov ordered Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya to strengthen the “media presence of Prigozhin’s apostate propagandists.”
It was previously known that the UN Security Council will discuss the humanitarian situation in Ukraine due to the war unleashed by Russia. It was reported to the secretariat of the Security Council.
In April, issues on the agenda of maintaining peace and security of Ukraine were not discussed, as Russia presided over the Security Council.
