The representative of the department, Konashenkov, claims that the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were allegedly repelled, and defense breakthroughs were not allowed.
At the same time, they actually recognized the retreat from positions north of Bakhmut. It is said that the Russian army has occupied a new frontier, namely at the Berkhovsky reservoir, taking into account its favorable conditions, the Russian service of Radio Liberty reports.

There are all signs of the exhaustion of the enemy in the Bakhmut direction, spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty said on May 12.
According to him, in the past 24 hours alone, 40 combat contacts took place there, as a result of which 190 invaders were killed, 244 were injured and another 15 were captured. Three tanks, an infantry fighting vehicle, three Msta-B howitzers and five ammunition depots were also destroyed.
This indicates that our defense operation is going well, the enemy is being exhausted and bled to death. “Wagner” has not fulfilled a single deadline, Bakhmut is not passionate, Cherevaty said.
