The girl was walking with her aunt and accidentally discovered a strange find. This is a megalodon tooth.
British schoolgirl Sydney Ruth was walking along the beach at Walton-on-Naz in Essex and noticed a large tooth the size of a human palm. The Daily Mail writes about it.
It was later revealed to be a megalodon tooth. As you know, the megalodon is the world’s largest shark that once lived on Earth.
The shark can reach about 18 meters in length, and its powerful jaws can strike with a force of up to 180,000 newtons, which is 10 times higher than the most famous white shark.
In total, they have 276 teeth in their huge mouth, which literally tear their prey apart.
Scientists believe that the megalodon first appeared in the oceans about 20 million years ago and died out about three million years ago. Researchers believe that climate change and ocean competition are the cause of the extinction.
It will be remembered that earlier in Laos, Southeast Asia, researchers discovered a tooth that probably belongs to the mysterious “family species” of humans – the Denisovans.
