The head of European diplomacy did not specify what types of missiles he was talking about, but admitted that it was not enough.
In recent months, Ukraine has received more than 1,000 missiles from EU countries. This is what the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said at a summit on European defense and security in Brussels on Thursday, May 11.
“We have given it (Ukraine – ed.) more than 1,000 missiles since February 9, when we started implementing our plan for the supply of ammunition,” he said.
Borrell did not specify what types of missiles he was talking about and admitted that they were not enough.
“I know that this is not enough. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has said that he intends to postpone the counteroffensive. Of course, Ukraine needs to prepare more, it needs more weapons, it needs more capabilities. And we must provide them,” Borrell summed up.
Remember, on May 5, the EU Council decided to allocate 1 billion euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine within the framework of the European Peace Fund. Along with the previous decision on the rapid supply of ammunition from existing stocks, the EU allocated 2 billion euros for these purposes, bringing the total amount of military support to Ukraine to 5.6 billion euros.
