When asked if the politician supports Ukraine in the war against Russia, Trump said that he “doesn’t think about victory or defeat.”
Former US President Donald Trump, in a debate on CNN, struggled to answer the three-time voiced question of whether Ukraine should win the war.
“I’m not thinking in terms of winning and losing. I’m thinking about how to handle,” he said.
When asked by the reporter a second time if he wanted Ukraine to win, Trump did not give a direct answer, but said he wanted “everybody to stop dying.”
“I want them to stop dying – both Russians and Ukrainians. And I will do it within 24 hours,” stressed the former US president.
After the journalist repeated his question for the third time, Trump said he wanted Europe to “invest more money” in support of Ukraine and “align with the United States.”
Trump reportedly refused to call Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal because he said it could interfere with negotiations with the Russian Federation.
Trump said he would give part of Ukraine to Russia to avoid war
