Journalists are trying to warn Crimeans about the danger associated with Russian military installations.

The journalists created an interactive map of the temporarily occupied Crimea with 223 Russian military installations with geolocations. The map is published on the websites of Radio Liberty and Krym.Realii.

We are talking about active, temporary and mothballed military facilities. The map is composed of up-to-date Planet Labs satellite imagery for 2023.

On the map, you can see in detail where and what kind of danger the military and other facilities associated with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and other law enforcement agencies pose.

Objects on the map are divided into 10 categories: objects of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation; weapons and ammunition storages; airbases and airports; radio and communication stations; Air defense and missile forces; border guards, internal troops, intelligence officers and other units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation; fuel for the troops; polygons; military installations of unknown purpose; radiation, chemical and biological protection troop (RCHBO) items.

The author of the map, journalist Igor Tokar, explained that it was important for the team to inform the public about the degree of militarization of Crimea.

“We want to warn the Crimeans about the danger associated with these places. After all, many people live near the military facilities of the Russian Federation. And because of the large-scale military operations carried out by Russia against in Ukraine, these places present a particular danger to others,” he said.

Recall that after the explosion at the oil depot in Sevastopol on April 29, Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, urged Crimeans not to be close to military facilities and facilities that provide the army with Russia in the near future.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian military dug about eight kilometers of trenches in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
