The Swift Response 2023 military exercise has begun in Estonia, where the Defense Forces and allies are practicing the rapid deployment of troops and equipment under the auspices of the United States. It was reported by ERR.
According to the chief of staff of the Swift Response exercises in Estonia, Colonel Viktor Kalnitsky, many airborne operations will take place during the exercises.
About 1,500 military personnel from Poland, the United States, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Latvia and Estonia will take part in the exercises.
About 600 paratroopers of the armed forces of Poland, Britain and the Czech Republic will land at Nurmsi airport during a major air operation.
Various units of the Defense Forces, as well as parts of the Defense League of the North-Eastern, Northern and Western Territorial Defense Districts are involved in the maneuvers.
Allied aviation is represented by both helicopters and large aircraft. The active phase of the exercise will end on May 14.
Swift Response 23 is an international exercise by the US Army Europe and Africa Command, held in Estonia, Spain and Greece. They are part of the main US Defender 23 maneuvers associated with the Polish military’s Anakonda 23 exercise. The Swift Response maneuvers will take place from 7 to 20 May.
It will be remembered that on May 8, the Grozny Shield naval exercises began in the northern part of Europe. More than 20 US and NATO warships, as well as more than 30 aircraft, including F-35s, took part in them.
It was previously reported that the Aurora-23 military exercises, which will be the largest national maneuver in more than 25 years, will take place on Swedish territory in April and May.
