In details revealed behind the scenes of the Harry Potter films, confirmation emerged that another actress who played Hermione in an iconic scene
Did you know it wasn’tEmma Watson who did the iconic scene where Hermione Granger transforms into a cat in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”? This curious detail was recently revealed by the actress Flick Mileswho was a double for Watson and who was responsible for giving life to the character in this unforgettable moment.
In an interview with the BBC, Miles confirmed:
When you see Hermione as a cat in Chamber of Secrets, it’s actually me.”
Emma had a stunt double during the film franchise, due to legal issues. Miles even revealed in that same interview how the recordings of the child actors worked:
When you’re under 16, you can only work 4 hours a day on set. To shoot as quickly as possible they would use Emma for 4 hours and then they would use me for 4 hours to shoot things that were more at a distance or over the shoulder. [sem o rosto].”
But it was not because of this workload that Miles did the scene where Hermione becomes a cat. The stunt double was present at that moment because Emma had an allergic reaction to one of the products used in this characterization.
The biggest scene I was in was the one where Hermione transforms into a cat in Chamber of Secrets. Emma had a small allergic reaction to the glue they used to set her makeup on, so I was asked to play the role,” commented Miles.

Miles also shared on the same social network a photo taken during the recording of “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”. In the image, the stuntwoman appears accompanied by Emma Watson, Tom Felton who played Draco Malfoy and Anthony Knight, Felton’s stunt double. In the caption, she wrote:
Smiling was not fashionable in 2003… Despite our faces, we were definitely having fun while filming HP3 in Scotland”
