Now there are no more than 450 peacekeepers in the so-called security zone in Transnistria. However, the PMR considers it necessary to increase their number due to the growth of security risks. The head of the so-called representative office of the pseudo-republic in Russia, Leonid Manakov, stated this in a commentary to the propaganda RIA Novosti.
According to him, the number of “peacekeepers” established by the documents of the commission is 3,100 people.
There is such an option, and it is justified from the point of view of worsening security risks, in particular the terrorist threat, and at the same time, it is legally justified by documents adopted as part of the activities of the Joint Control Commission, Manakov noted.
Recall that in March, the so-called Ministry of State Security of Transnistria accused the SBU of preparing an assassination attempt on a number of Transnistrian officials. The agency said it prevented the attack and detained the suspects. They are already testifying.
