Russia’s losses approached 195 thousand liquidated occupiers

    The military losses of the Russian Federation in the war with Ukraine have already amounted to about 195 thousand soldiers, officers and mercenaries.

    During the day, the Defense Forces liquidated 540 invaders, turned seven tanks, five armored combat vehicles, eight artillery systems, six vehicles and four special equipment into scrap metal. 42 Russian UAVs were also shot down. This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to May 8, 2023 were approximately:

    • personnel – about 194 thousand 970 (+540) people liquidated,
    • tanks – 3 thousand 730 (+7) units,
    • armored combat vehicles – 7253 (+5) units,
    • artillery systems – 3 thousand 18 (+8) units,
    • MLRS – 554 (+0) units,
    • air defense systems – 306 (+0) units,
    • aircraft – 308 (+0) units,
    • helicopters – 294 (+0) units,
    • UAVs of the operational-tactical level – 2 thousand 614 (+42),
    • cruise missiles – 947 (+0),
    • ships/boats – 18 (+0) units,
    • automotive equipment and tankers – 5 thousand 958 (+6) units,
    • special equipment – 384 (+4).

    Recall that on the night of May 8, 2023, the enemy attacked the Kiev region with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones, but the Ukrainian military shot down 35 out of 35 enemy drones.
