Israel Defense reports that a total of 16 such devices should be in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In Israel, they are used to detect and identify dangerous objects in the sky, they are connected to the warning system. In the event of a threat, residents are instantly notified about the need to go to the shelter.
This week, the Israeli system of early warning of a missile attack was launched in Kyiv,” Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk told the Jerusalem Post.
The Ambassador noted the personal involvement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in ensuring the speedy completion of the project.
I hope that the warning system will be quickly finalized, and we will be able to copy and use Israeli technologies in all major Ukrainian cities, Korniychuk said.
The system identifies missiles of all kinds and the objects they will fall on, thus detailing the area where residents may be at risk.
The alert system also calculates how much time people in dangerous areas have to find shelter.
This is very important for our civilian and military infrastructure. This is equipment that will allow us to save lives,” said Korniychuk.
