This was announced today, May 6, by the press center of the SBU.
Thus, an older man during the temporary occupation of Kherson voluntarily agreed to be appointed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson region created by the invaders. In particular, while in a leadership “position”, he:
- carried out the instructions of Gauleiter Saldo regarding the spread of the Kremlin regime in the region;
- also regularly participated in meetings chaired by the occupation “minister” and called on the people to support the invaders”;
- forced local farmers to work in favor of the aggressor country, and in case of refusal, threatened with reprisals from the punitive bodies of Russia.
It is noted that after the liberation of the right-bank Kherson region, the younger man continued to maintain contact with the Russian military, who fled to the left bank of the Dnieper. According to the investigation, he:
- “leaked” to the occupiers the places of deployment and movement of the Defense Forces in the territory of the Belozersky district. Most of all, the enemy was interested in the locations of the combat positions of the cannon artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- informed the invaders about the consequences of Russian air attacks on local critical infrastructure, social institutions and residential buildings.
The invaders used the intelligence data to correct repeated rocket and artillery strikes on the settlements of Belozerka, Kizomis and Gigantskoye, including with the use of guided bombs, the SBU notes.
According to the investigation, the traitor used anonymous messengers for communication, and the transfer of intelligence information was carried out in the form of text and audio messages, as well as electronic coordinates.
Understanding the inevitability of punishment for the crimes committed, both defendants planned to escape to the temporarily occupied part of Kherson. To do this, they negotiated with the occupiers to carry out the evacuation. However, employees of the Security Service promptly exposed the intruders and detained them, the SBU notes.
As a result, the younger man was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law), and his father – under part 5 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration activity) of the Criminal Code.
Both perpetrators are currently in custody. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.
