Ukraine returns from captivity another 45 of its defenders. Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, spoke about this on his Telegram channel on Saturday, May 6.
“We are returning home 45 of our people. These are 42 defenders and three defenders of Azovstal. They are all National Guardsmen from a unit created 9 years ago on the coast of Azov. 35 privates and sergeants, 10 officers . Among them there were soldiers who got married during the defense of Mariupol, in Azovstal,” the official wrote.
According to him, among these defenders there was also a fighter who, before the large-scale invasion, had been captured by the Russians for 2.5 years since the Shirokinsk operation.
The head of the OP added that the fighter was released from captivity and immediately returned to the unit, later he was captured again in Azovstal, and now he returned home again.
Recall that Ukraine on Easter conducted another large exchange of prisoners – another 130 defenders were released from Russian captivity.
