United24’s fundraising platform is complemented by two other streams: Education and Science and Demining.
Two new directions appeared on the Ukrainian fundraising platform United24, joined by five more ambassadors. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a speech at an event on the occasion of the first anniversary of the platform.
In its first year, United24 focused on three areas: defense and demining, medicine, and recovery.
Now, two more are added to these three directions. Yes, there will be a separate area for humanitarian demining so that as many people as possible can focus on it. And the fifth direction for United24 will be educational.
The first ambassadors of the Education and Science direction were scientists and Nobel Prize winners – British biochemist Paul Nurse, Norwegian psychologist Edward Moser and May-Britt Moser. And so is the Ukrainian actress Ivanna Sakhno.
In the new demining direction, the first ambassador was the American philosopher of Japanese origin, Francis Fukuyama.
“This direction of United24 is also big. More than 170 thousand square kilometers of the territory of Ukraine is contaminated with unexploded mines and shells. Not every country in the world has an area that we must make completely safe for our people, for our children,” Zelensky said.
Recall that people from 110 countries of the world have already joined the United24 platform, and the total amount of charitable contributions has exceeded $300 million.
