During his visit to Kyiv, Czech President Petr Pavel presented his colleague Vladimir Zelensky with a unique pistol – CZ 75 “Order of the White Lion”.
Pavel said that he gave the gun as a sign of respect for the heroism of the Ukrainians.
In February 2022, Russia hit hard on the resilience of Ukrainians. From the very beginning, Czech weapons also help them in battle. As a sign of respect for their heroism, I presented Vladimir Zelensky with the legendary CZ 75, serial number 22. The badge of the Order of the White Lion captures the courage with which he leads his people, the Czech President said.
Pistols CZ 75 Order of the White Lion Edition were produced in a small edition by Ceskaya zbrojovka. The company released these pistols in 2022 for the 100th anniversary of the highest state award of the Czech Republic.
“Order of the White Lion” is one of the most honorary awards of the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia. It has been awarded since 1922. To commemorate the centenary of the order, the Office of the President of the Republic ordered 100 copies of the CZ 75 pistol. This piece of art received a unique engraving, good grip pads and gilded details.
In 2021, the Eastern European arms concern Ceskaya zbrojovka bought a 100% stake in the American company Colt’s Manufacturing Company. The cost of the transaction amounted to 220 million dollars.
