So the European official answered the question of whether he sees a peace plan that could resolve the conflict.
“The only plan that can be called peaceful are the proposals presented by Zelensky,” the official said.
According to him, China’s “peace plan” is “an attempt at wishful thinking.”
At the same time, Borrell added that Kyiv’s proposals “of course, will not be accepted in Russia.”
According to the head of EU diplomacy, China is “assigned a certain role” in this situation, because it can influence Russia.
China, according to Brussels, has not yet supplied weapons to Russia, he added.
“We also have an interest in not pushing Russia too close to China,” Borrell said.
It can be recalled that Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said that China wants to “stubbornly” promote peace talks to “solve the crisis” in Ukraine and is willing to engage with Russia on this issue.
