In April, the number of applications to the state project I want to live reached more than three thousand Russian military. This was announced by the project’s spokesperson Vitaly Matvienko at a press conference.
“In April, the number of requests increased by 10% compared to March 2023 and reached 3,200 requests,” he said.
In total, during the existence of the project, more than 16 thousand appeals were received from Russian invaders. The site was visited by more than 36 million people, 32 million of them from the territory of Russia.
As a poll conducted among Russian prisoners in April showed, 40% of the occupiers surrendered voluntarily.
In addition, the results of the first sociological study of Russian prisoners of war, conducted by the Coordinating Headquarters within the framework of the Want to Live project, show that only 10.9% of respondents have higher education to all respondents.
According to Andriy Skotsik, Project Manager of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, 57.7% of the surveyed prisoners of war had a special secondary education, 19.2% only graduated from school, and 12.2% did not received secondary education.
It is indicated that representatives of almost all regions of Russia, as well as those illegally mobilized in the temporarily occupied territories of ORDLO and Crimea, are taking part in the hostilities in Ukraine.
The survey was conducted in April through a questionnaire. 400 prisoners of war were interviewed.
Recall that since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has returned 2,238 people from captivity.
