Beijing will continue to play a constructive role for a political resolution of the situation in Ukraine, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the “drone attack” on the Kremlin, called on the Russian Federation and Ukraine to refrain from actions that would lead to further escalation. This was said on May 4 by the representative of the country’s Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, RTHK reports.
He noted that Beijing’s position on the “crisis in Ukraine” is consistent and clear, and “all parties should avoid actions that could worsen the situation.”
Asked if the “Moscow incident” would affect the Chinese envoy’s visit to Ukraine, Ning said Chinese authorities would release information about it “in due course.”
“The Chinese side will continue to cooperate with the international community to play a constructive role for a political solution to the ‘crisis in Ukraine,'” the ministry spokesman added.
Recall that on Wednesday Moscow announced an “attack by Ukrainian drones” on the Kremlin, regarding it as a “planned terrorist act and an attempt on the life of Russian leader” Vladimir Putin on the eve of Victory Day.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that Kyiv did not make any “attack” on the Kremlin or its head Putin and uses weapons to protect its territory.
