Slovak transmission system operator SEPS announced the provision of equipment to Ukraine for the restoration of backbone networks.
Slovakia announced the provision of equipment to Ukraine for the repair of major electrical substations with a total cost of 1 million euros. This was announced on Wednesday, May 3, by the operator of the Ukrainian energy system Ukrenergo.
“Slovak transmission system operator SEPS provides Ukrenergo with eight trucks of equipment for the restoration of major substations damaged during Russian missile attacks and shelling. This shipment is part of the comprehensive support provided to us by our Slovak colleagues since the first day of a massive invasion,” the message said.
The equipment worth 1 million euros will help to continue the operation of several high-voltage substations in different regions of Ukraine. The first two trucks will leave the territory of Slovakia today, and the rest – in the coming days.
“We understand the difficult situation of the people of Ukraine, so we are trying to provide the maximum possible help. I am glad that we have found equipment and spare parts that Ukraine can use,” said Peter Dovgun, chairman of the board and CEO of SEPS.
Ukrenergo noted that they expect this shipment, because the availability of working equipment is the most important condition for restoring the energy infrastructure and preparing for the next heating season.
Recall that the annual repair campaign at power plants has begun in Ukraine, which is mandatory for preparing for the winter season.
