The Czech Ministry of Health denied reports of tuberculosis among Ukrainian soldiers at the Libava training area.
In the Czech Republic, hoaxes began to spread about the alleged discovery of tuberculosis among Ukrainian military personnel, who were being trained in the Olomouc region. The Czech Ministry of Health denied the authenticity of this information, writes proukrainu.blesk.cz.
It was noted that messages about the tuberculosis epidemic among Ukrainians in the Olomouc region began to appear on the network in February. Some e-mail boxes accept messages to an e-mail address imitating the address of the Ministry of Health.
“They contain fake documents announcing selective testing of schools for tuberculosis and threats of fines. We are not planning anything like this, and this is a lie,” said Czech Hygiene Service.
The document is similar to those issued by the Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 epidemic. The letter contained a round seal and what appeared to be the signature of chief hygienist Pavla Svrchinova.
It can be noted that not a single letter from the ministry was sent to a school in Libau and was not even labeled as an “information letter”. There is also no defined anti-epidemiological control. According to the ministry, the department is not preparing any school inspections.

The regional hygiene station of the Olomouc region warned on its website about false information about the connection of the Ukrainian military with tuberculosis on February 1. It was distributed on the social networks of senator Jana Zvirtek Gamplova, but was later deleted and apologized.
Preliminary data from the medical registry show an increase in the incidence of tuberculosis compared to pre-COVID-19 levels. Experts expect an increase in the number of cases in the Czech Republic due to the fact that this infection is more common in Ukraine. Last year, 374 cases of tuberculosis were recorded, of which 161 were among foreigners. Among them are 89 Ukrainians, 54 of whom are refugees.
Doctors warn that people cannot be infected by short-term contact – it takes several hours of contact.
Remember, the Center for Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Russians are launching many fakes about Ukrainian refugees to set the Europeans against them. Google aims to combat disinformation about Ukrainian refugees in Germany.
