The head of state made the first conversation in the history of relations with the President of Comoros.
On Tuesday, May 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the President of Comoros, head of the African Union, Azali Assoumani. The head of state announced this in Twitter.
“I am happy for the first time in the history of relations with the President of Comoros, Azali Assoumani. I congratulate my colleague on his election as head of the African Union,” he wrote.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine is interested in developing cooperation with Africa and, for its part, is ready to remain a guarantor of world food security.
“I thanked Ukraine for its principled position and support at the UN and other places. I invited it to join the implementation of the Peace Formula,” the president wrote.
Recall that six African countries have expressed interest in opening Ukrainian diplomatic missions on their territories.
