A single database will collect data on missing persons, as well as other information that will facilitate their search.
Starting May 2, data on missing persons will be entered into the Unified Register, developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Commissioner for Missing Persons and other departments. This was reported by the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
It was noted that the registry will also collect centralized data on the missing: full name of the person, place and date of birth, marital status, place of residence, territory where the disappearance occurred, circumstances and time of disappearance, signs of the person.
It will also include information on the presence or absence of a court decision recognizing people as missing or declaring them dead, as well as other data that facilitate the search for a person.
“One month after entering the relevant information in the register, relatives will receive an appropriate statement confirming the status of the missing person. Based on the statement, people can apply to the Pension Fund to receive survivor’s pension for disabled family members,” the Ministry of Reintegration summarized.
It was previously reported that Ukraine has purchased equipment for selecting, digitizing and storing DNA samples of military personnel.
