Ukraine’s task is to ensure that the invaders cannot use the peninsula for military purposes and, finally, make a “good deed.”
Andrey Chernyak, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, believes that Russia should be cut off from Crimea and forced to make a “goodwill gesture.” He said this in the ArmiyaInform publication, commenting on the words of the former commander of the US Army in Europe, Ben Hodges, the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate reports on May 2.
Earlier, the American general called Crimea decisive for this war and stressed that as long as Russia occupies the peninsula, Ukraine cannot be protected.
Cherniak agreed with Hodges’ assessments.
“Of course, the enemy must be cut off from Crimea – to ensure that Russia cannot use the temporarily occupied peninsula for military purposes and, finally, to implement the so-called” Crimean goodwill gesture, “he explained .
According to the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Ukraine does not stop taking appropriate measures in the Crimean direction, as evidenced, in particular, by the recent events on the peninsula.
“Kilometer-long traffic jams on the illegally built bridge from Kerch to Russia is the right reaction. The Main Directorate of Defense of Ukraine strongly recommends to leave the occupied Crimea while there is still an option,” Chernyak summed up.
Recall that on April 29, as a result of an explosion in Sevastopol, more than 40,000 tons of oil products intended for the needs of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation were destroyed.
After the fire at the oil depot, part of the invaders began to flee from the peninsula – a huge traffic jam was formed in front of the Kerch bridge.
