The United States does not plan to publish data on losses among the Ukrainian military during the war with the Russian Federation, as this “will complicate the situation for Kyiv itself.”

This was announced on May 1 by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby.
According to him, if desired, this information can be made public by the authorities of Ukraine.
Russian losses at Bakhmut over the past five months have amounted to more than 100,000 killed and wounded, Kirby added.
He noted that this figure includes more than 20 thousand dead, half of which are Wagner mercenaries. It is based on US intelligence estimates.
According to a White House adviser, the Russian offensive on Bakhmut has stalled and failed. Kirby stressed that the Muscovites’ attempt to advance in the Donbas through Bakhmut failed, because Russia was unable to capture “no real strategically important territory.”
