Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said this on the air of the national telethon.
There are definitely Leopards and definitely Challengers. They already are. Moreover, they are not just there, but our crews have undergone appropriate exercises and training,” he stressed.
According to the minister, he has already visited the units and talked with the Ukrainian military, who were trained on this technique. Reznikov noted that the military is satisfied with Western tanks.
When I asked the guys who mastered the Challengers, these are our heroic paratroopers. I say: “Guys, how?”. They say “class”. I say: “Can you compare, perhaps, “Lada” and “Mercedes” – is this such a difference? Such a short pause: “No, Mr. Minister, it’s not even a Mercedes, it’s a Rolls-Royce,” the minister said.
Reznikov noted that he also personally, with the permission of the crew, had the opportunity to direct this equipment and make sure of its good controllability.
Heavy machine, tracks. But I personally, when I sat down and controlled the Challengers with levers, I get the impression: you thought that you want to go left, it is already turning left,” the minister said.
Reznikov recalled that Ukraine received not only tanks, but also reinforcements of these units – Bradleys, Marders, Humvees and other armored vehicles.
