An explosive detonated on the way to a car with Bulgarian Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev.
The explosion thundered on Monday, May 1, on the way to the cortege, where there was a car with the chief prosecutor of Bulgaria, Ivan Geshev. This was reported by the Bulgarian national television.
The incident took place on the highway between the capital Sofia and the city of Samokov, located in the south. No one was killed in the incident.
According to unofficial data, an explosive device exploded in front of one of the cars of the cortege, and fragments remained at the scene of the accident.
“The explosion took place next to the car of the chief prosecutor. The explosive device was placed in a way to kill, it contained about 3 kg of TNT and harmful elements, as a result of its detonation, a funnel was formed about 3 m wide and about 40 cm deep,” said the head of the National Bulgarian Investigative Service, Borislav Sarafov.
The highway is currently closed. The police, gendarmerie and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working at the scene to fight organized crime.
May 2 O. The Prime Minister of Bulgaria Gilib Donev will hold a meeting to summarize the information received.
It will be remembered that in 2021, the motorcade of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, had a fatal accident near Lake Issyk-Kul. Six people were injured in the accident and one person died.
