Ukraine hopes for further cooperation with New Zealand in the defense and humanitarian fields, the President said.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke on the phone with New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Gipkins. The Ukrainian leader announced this on Telegram on Monday, May 1.
“I thanked New Zealand for participating in the training of our military. We look forward to its continuation, as well as further cooperation in defense and humanitarian affairs. We discussed the need for further integration of countries in the Pacific region in support of Ukraine,” Zelensky wrote.
It will be remembered that in December 2022, New Zealand Defense Minister Pini Henare visited Ukraine. He met his Ukrainian colleague Oleksiy Reznikov.
It was also reported that a volunteer from New Zealand died in Ukraine. Kane Te Tai became the third New Zealander to die in the war against Russia. He stayed in our country for almost a year.
