Mikhail Mizintsev was replaced by Colonel-General Alexei Kuzmenkov as deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Ministry of Defense (MO) of Russia officially announced on its Telegram channel the appointment of Colonel General Alexei Kuzmenkov as Deputy for Logistics. Previously, this position was held by Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, who received the nickname “The Butcher of Mariupol”.
Before being appointed head of the logistics service, General Mizintsev ordered the attack on Mariupol, in particular, he ordered the bombing of the maternity hospital and the Drama Theater.
In August 2021, the Office of the Prosecutor General informed Mizintsev of the suspicion of an attempt on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, waging a war of aggression and violation of the laws and customs of war, as well as planned assassination . From August 2012 to December 2014, the Russian served as the head of the central command post of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, and was therefore responsible for organizing the killing of Ukrainian soldiers near Ilovaisk.
Colonel General Kuzmenkov, who replaced Mizintsev, previously served as Deputy Director of the Russian Guard Viktor Zolotov, and even earlier – Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.
Recall that earlier Russian propagandists announced the removal of Mizintsev from the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation for Logistics.
