America’s first major submersible is now being tested off the coast of California.
The US will test five underwater drones that could “fundamentally change the situation” around the island of Taiwan. This was announced on Friday, April 28, by the Chief of Staff of the US Navy, Admiral Michael Gilday, speaking at a hearing at the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, writes TASS.
According to him, the first such underwater vehicle is now being tested off the coast of California, and five more will be tested after that.
“With the help of such a device, mines can be planted. And this will fundamentally change the situation around Taiwan,” said Gilday.
So, he answered the question of Congressman Ruben Gallego “is there any means in the arsenal of the United States that can now be used or modernized to prevent a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.”
It will be remembered that the United States can send its soldiers to Taiwan in the event that China attacks the island.
