The French Senate called on the EU to collect evidence of the forced transfer of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation, as well as to impose sanctions against those involved.

France approved on Thursday, April 20, a resolution condemning Russia’s deportation of Ukrainian children and the actions of the Russian Federation itself, which administratively naturalizes, changes the names and origins of children abducted from Ukraine. This was announced by the Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmitry Lubinets.

The French Senate called on the EU to collect evidence of the forced migration of Ukrainian children to Russia, as well as to impose sanctions on those involved in these crimes.

“I hope that joint efforts will expand sanctions against those responsible for the deportation of Ukrainian children. The first wave of sanctions on this issue is in the 10th EU sanctions package, which was adopted at the end of February, ” said the Ombudsman.

It was previously reported that Russia plans to send more than 26,000 children from the occupied territories of Ukraine on so-called “vacation”.

Recall that Russia is holding at least 6,000 Ukrainian children in camps where they are being “politically re-educated.”
