Before the war, 460 thousand people lived in Nikolaev, and today there are more than 400 thousand. There is a similar situation in the return region.
Almost all residents of Nikolaev and the settlements of the Nikolaev region, who left the region after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, returned home. This was announced at a briefing on April 20 by the head of the regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Since November 11 (last year), when the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson were liberated, people began to return. After February 24, 2022, there were about 200 thousand people in the city, and now, according to mobile operators, the number is more than 400 thousand – 460 thousand … In the region, almost everyone has also returned,” he said.
Answering a question about the situation at Kinburn Spit, the head of the UVA stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are working on its liberation from the Russian invaders.
“I can’t tell you much, we are monitoring (the situation) almost every day, including with the help of satellite images. We think this: you have to ask the residents about the situation at Kinburn Spit, which now has no opportunity to communicate every day and inform. Indirectly, I can say, judging by the shelling of Ochakov: if there are fewer shellings, then the situation is better. Our Armed Forces are working. There victories too,” added Kim.
Let’s remind, in March in the Nikolaev area, the priority demining of lands of agricultural purpose began.
