Floods in Ukraine: nearly 2,000 homes flooded

In the north of the country, there is a downward trend in rising water levels in rivers. 1741 households were flooded.

On the morning of April 20, the spring flooding in Ukraine subsided, the water began to recede. However, 1741 households remain flooded. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

“Currently, the hydrological situation is under control. There is a possibility of reducing the rate of rise of water levels in rivers in the north of the country. 1,741 households and 434 houses remain flooded,” the report said.

In the Chernihiv region, 488 households remain flooded, in Dnepropetrovsk – 433, Kirovohrad – 323, Kiev – 210, Cherkasy – 162, Poltava – 107 and Volyn – 18. Chernihiv – 29 and Poltava – two.

In Dnepropetrovsk, Volyn, Rivne, Cherkasy and Poltava regions, 21,087 hectares of agricultural land were flooded. Transport connections in 33 settlements were disrupted: Chernigovskaya – 32 and Kyiv – one.

Recall that earlier in some regions of Ukraine the highest (red) level of danger was announced due to floods.
