Despite the fact that the FBI closed one of these in Manhattan last week and arrested two involved in the organization, the New York Post reports that there is another department at unknown addresses in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles ( California), Houston (Texas), as well as in unnamed cities in the states of Nebraska and Minnesota.
The employees of such offices are alleged to have harassed and intimidated Chinese dissidents in the United States.
Earlier, the US accused 40 Chinese police officers of illegally persecuting Chinese political activists.
In particular, they persecuted Chinese citizens living in the States and whose political views do not coincide with the policies of the PRC government. The defendants created fake social media accounts and tried to suppress the freedom of speech of Chinese dissidents.
Also in the United States arrested two suspects in the creation of a secret branch of the Chinese police in New York. They were agents of the PRC government who were supposed to identify and intimidate Chinese activists.
