Journalistic group VSQUARE published an investigation according to which the Russian authorities placed antennas for intercepting signals and listening on the roofs of embassies in the center of at least 11 European capitals.

The code name for these systems is “Zenith”. Each Russian embassy employs one or two special agents who receive highly secret intelligence tasks through them. Even the diplomats themselves sometimes do not know about this method of communication. With the help of some antennas, you can listen to the conversations of dispatchers and pilots, police officers, and sailors.
Back in the middle of last year, BILD wrote that the spy antenna was located on the roof of the Russian embassy on the Unter den Linden boulevard in the center of Berlin. It can transmit signals up to 800 km distance. Then the German intelligence services warned German officials and politicians that “there is a risk of eavesdropping and data leakage in the government quarter of Berlin.”
