UOC-MP patrons break down the shutters on the Lavra building sealed by the Ministry of Culture

UOC-MP believers broke the protective shutters on the building, which was sealed by the commission of the Ministry of Culture.

Parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate broke the protective shutters of the building of the national reserve sealed by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Yulia Girdvilis, spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police, said this in a commentary to Ukrainska Pravda.

According to him, after the representatives of the Ministry of Culture sealed another room – one of the buildings of the Lavra – the angry believers of the UOC-MP broke the seal and damaged the protective shutters.

The press service of the Ministry of Culture said that after the commission’s work on the territory laurel gathered unknown persons who had committed a violation of public order.

It was noted that the commission began work on April 19 at 08:30 and completed the property inspection of buildings No. 37, 37-a, 38 (architectural monuments of national importance – the Gallery in the Near Caves (37) and the Bell Tower in the Near Caves (38), architectural monuments of local importance – Entrance to the Gallery of the Near Caves (37A) at 09:30, after which began processing documents.

At the time of the exit of the commission from these places, not a single unauthorized person was present. After that, the management of the reserve called a fire safety engineer to fix the fire safety violations and technical workers of the reserve to seal the area. The security police remained to ensure law and order for the final technical work.

However, unknown people formed a cluster after the commission’s work was completed, and also committed a clear violation of public order.

And about. Maxim Ostapenko, General Director of the National Reserve Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, filed a corresponding application with law enforcement agencies.

Recall that today the commission of the Ministry of Culture examined three more monastery sites on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
