Only 53% of respondents support the former US president, according to poll data.
The rating of the former US leader Donald Trump as a Republican nominee for the presidency in 2024 has decreased. This is confirmed by the results of a survey conducted by the business intelligence company Morning Consult.
Thus, only 53% of respondents support Trump, while at the beginning of the month 57% supported him.
The strongest competitor, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, is willing to support 24% of respondents (22% at the beginning of the month). Other possible candidates from the Republican Party are less popular.
The poll was conducted from April 14-16 among more than 3.4 thousand voters who support the Republican Party.
It will be recalled that on April 4, Trump was charged with falsification of business documents in the first degree in 34 episodes. Each count carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison.
The prosecutor’s office believes that the ultimate goal of the fraud was to hide information that could interfere with Trump’s victory in the 2016 presidential election.
