More than half of the missing military is usually in captivity and returned during the exchange.
As of April this year, more than 7,000 servicemen were considered missing in Ukraine. Said data was announced by Oleg Kotenko, Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, on Tuesday, April 18.
“There is definitely a figure, a little more than seven thousand. We are expecting those we are looking for who are missing, to have been captured,” he said on the air of the telethon.
Kotenko also added that according to statistics, about 60-65% of the missing are alive and in captivity.
Recall that last week Ukraine returned 230 people from captivity in two exchanges. After the return of the second group of fighters, it was emphasized that 48 of the 130 people were previously considered missing. Some of them have severe wounds and many contusions.
