Every eighth victim from this list is a child. This was announced today, April 17, by the press service of the British Ministry of Defense.
The most affected regions are the Kherson and Kharkiv regions – territories previously occupied by Russia, the department notes.
The British Ministry of Defense predicts that with the arrival of spring and an increase in the number of people involved in agricultural work, the risk of mine incidents among the civilian population will increase.
Probably, it will take at least ten years to clear Ukraine of mines.
