Slutsky retracted his words about the exchange of Medvedchuk for “Azov”

The State Duma deputy said “he is not understood” and Azovstal’s defenders need to be “tributed to the tribunal.”

Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Leonid Slutsky withdrew his words about the possibility of replacing Ukrainian People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk for the Ukrainian military from Azovstal. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine in connection with the statement of the Russian deputy.

As Slutsky noted, his opinion about the fighters of the Ukrainian division of Azov has not changed. He believes they should not be replaced, but should be “given to the tribunal.”

“Regarding the proposals regarding Medvedchuk, I am convinced that those with appropriate competence should discuss these issues. Honestly, it was said at a press conference. No more, at least. All the interpretations that happening now is fundamentally not. true in essence, I want to emphasize this again, “said the deputy of the Russian State Duma.

Earlier, on Saturday, May 21, Leonid Slutsky said, at a press conference in Donetsk, that Moscow would study the possibility of replacing Viktor Medvedchuk for the fighters of the Azov battalion.
