On the premises of the Assumption Cathedral, prayers were held in Ukrainian for the defenders of the state.
In the Assumption Cathedral of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the Easter service of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was held for the first time. This was reported by Ukrinform on Sunday, April 14.
It is indicated that from 6 o’clock in the morning, the faithful went to the church to consecrate Easter and Easter eggs. Also, prayers for the defenders of Ukraine were held in the Ukrainian language on the premises of the cathedral.
The Acting Viceroy of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra as part of the OCU, Archimandrite Abraham, in his video message, wished Ukrainians victory against temptations and evil.
“Evil still has temporary power and seeks to rule over people, but thanks to the Resurrection of Christ, each of us has the opportunity to personally choose – to submit to the charms of evil, to believe to evil, to be tempted, or to go through Calvary with the Son of God to victory in the resurrection. Christ calls each of us to take up your cross and follow it,” said Abraham.
Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to Ukrainians on Easter Day. He assured that the blue-and-yellow national flag will be raised in all territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by demons.
It was also reported that Ukrainian defenders were preparing festive Easter gifts for the enemy – they painted specific Easter eggs.
