Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, congratulated the citizens of our country on Easter. This year, the head of state recorded a video on this occasion in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which in the spring of 2023 began to get rid of the attributes of a purely “Russian world”, namely the presence of exclusively the clergy of the UOC-MP.

The President reminded in his address that Ukrainians will have one big holiday for the whole nation – victory in the war of liberation:
We ask for help from the heavenly forces to save the lives of our soldiers in the fight against the Russian invaders. We celebrate Easter today with unshakable faith in our victory.
Zelensky recalled that Ukrainians have already come a long way in the fight against Russian evil spirits, but the most difficult of peaks lies ahead.
We will overcome it. And together we will meet our dawn when the sun rises over our entire country. This is a blue and yellow banner. It will certainly rise in all of our God-given land, in all the territories temporarily occupied by the devils. The sun will shine in the south, the sun will shine in the east, the sun will shine in the Crimea. An orange sun in a peaceful blue sky is the light of justice. Christ is risen! – says the greeting of the President of Ukraine.
Recall that on April 16, Christians of the Eastern Rite celebrate the greatest holiday – the Bright Resurrection of Christ, or Easter.
Easter, as Ukrainians have long called this special Sunday of the year, is the most ancient and main Christian holiday of the entire liturgical year and is timed to coincide with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
According to the Gospels, after Jesus came to Jerusalem, was betrayed and executed on the cross, and then buried in a cave by faithful disciples – He was resurrected. Sunday afternoon, having come to His tomb, the myrrh-bearing women found that the burial place was empty. Instead, they saw an angel telling them that Jesus had risen. Soon Christ appeared to one of them and spoke of His resurrection. The good news spread extremely quickly throughout Jerusalem, and then throughout Judea.
