Ukraine needs effective security guarantees even before joining NATO. This is what President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Saturday, April 15.
Effective security guarantees for Ukraine, that is, in fact, for the international order based on rules, are needed even before joining the Alliance,” he stressed.
According to him, the common position of all participating states of the NATO summit to be held in July in Vilnius “can be as ambitious as the need of European security.”
The President also said that a meeting of the member states of the joint investigative team to investigate the crimes of the Russians in Ukraine was held in the capital of Lithuania. As a result, on April 14, an agreement was signed on the joint investigation of not only war crimes with Russia, but also the crime of genocide.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada called on NATO member countries to support Ukraine’s entry into the Alliance.
