The Russian businessman admitted Russia’s defeat during Ukraine’s counter-offensive and considered it beneficial.
The owner of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin believes that the Ukrainian counteroffensive will be successful. In this regard, he is preparing to take advantage of the situation. This is what analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in their report.
Prigozhin recently published an essay in which he warned of the high probability of a successful counter-offensive by the Ukrainian army. A Russian businessman has accused the Kremlin-centered elites and bureaucracy of deliberately sabotaging Russia’s victory in the war and warned that “enemies within” will push the Kremlin to make “serious concessions.”
Prigozhin considered Russia’s possible defeat in the war beneficial. He believed that this would serve as a catalyst for the revival of patriotism among Russians. In this regard, the owner of PMC Wagner calls for the continuation of the war, no matter what, because both victory and defeat are equally acceptable to him.
“Prigozhin creates information conditions to use the failure of the Russian military (in his own interests – ed.) in the event of the success of the planned Ukrainian counter-offensive,” ISW notes.
Recall that the head of PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, called on the Russian authorities to announce the end of the so-called “SVO” and focus on gaining a foothold in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
