Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister, is embarrassed again with a new statement about Ukraine.
Commenting on the sharp rise in prices in Hungary and Europe, he spoke about Ukraine, saying that it is not able to finance its needs, and the war against the Russian Federation allegedly continues thanks to money and help from the West. Also, in his opinion, the EU should not be expected “a breakthrough in providing assistance to curb war inflation.” Orban quotes resource 24.hu.
Ukraine in the financial sense is a non-existent country. She cannot finance herself. The question is whether we will save Ukraine or not. As soon as we say no, then the war ends,” he said.
The Hungarian prime minister added that allegedly European countries pay pensions and salaries for teachers and doctors in Ukraine, “which does not exist in the European economy.” Orban stressed that this should not continue.
Recall that in April, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that Budapest would stop blocking Ukraine’s rapprochement with NATO “provided that the Ukrainians return the rights to the Hungarians of Transcarpathia, which they enjoyed until 2015.”
