The signing of a grain export agreement between Ukraine and Poland has been postponed

The Polish side expressed the need to elaborate some provisions of the document. It is due on April 17.

The signing of an agreement between Ukraine and Poland on the export of grain, which was planned today, has been postponed to April 17. It was announced yesterday in Twitter Ministry of Agriculture of Poland.

“Scheduled for Friday, the signing of an agreement between Poland and Ukraine on the export of grain was postponed to Monday (April 17). Some provisions need to be detailed. On Friday, Minister Robert Telus will discuss it online with the Minister (Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine) Mykola Solsky,” the ministry said.

Earlier, Telus told reporters that he would hold an online meeting on Friday with the agriculture ministers of the countries bordering Ukraine and urge them to jointly apply to the EU about changing duties.

He added that Ukrainian grain should be equally distributed throughout Europe, and not settle only in neighboring countries.

Recall that Ukraine exports a significant part of grain through the land border with Poland in connection with the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and difficult export by sea.

Most of the Ukrainian food, which should go in transit to other states, began to settle in the country. This caused protests among Polish farmers and led to the resignation of Agriculture Minister Henryk Kowalczyk.

The situation is also aggravated by the fact that the EU has extended the duty-free import of agricultural products from Ukraine.

To resolve the situation, Kyiv and Warsaw agreed that until the new season, Ukraine will stop exporting wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower to Poland.

Poland will create a commission due to fraud in the import of grain from Ukraine
