The Ministry of Agriculture of Slovakia has banned the processing of grain imported from Ukraine, as well as the sale of Ukrainian grain products on the domestic market. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“According to the instructions, there is a strict ban on the processing and introduction into circulation of stored Ukrainian grain and flour from it. The controlled sample confirmed the presence of a pesticide that is not allowed in the EU and has a negative impact on human health ,” the report said.
Based on the unsatisfactory results of the analysis of 1,500 tons of wheat from Ukraine, the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture introduced instructions to prohibit the processing and introduction of the grain into the feed and food chain.
The Office, together with subordinate organizations, will ensure the collection of samples of all grain and flour from Ukraine, already stored in Slovakia
All EU member states and Ukrainian Ambassador Miroslav Kastrana will report the results of the analysis of the batch of Ukrainian grain to Slovakia. The countries’ agriculture ministers will discuss this issue separately. Visegrad Fouras well as Romania and Bulgaria at a meeting on 14 April.
