Countries on the way to the EU have pledged to uphold the right to freely choose their own foreign policy and alliances.
Ukraine will work with Romania and Moldova towards full membership in the European Union. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
It was learned that on Thursday, April 13, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov signed a joint statement with their Romanian and Moldovan counterparts.
Nations are committed to upholding the right to freely choose their own foreign policies and alliances.
As the statement says, the enlargement of the EU and the deepening of cooperation with NATO are key points in this regard.
“In this context, we emphasize the importance of the historic decision of the European Council to grant the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine the status of a candidate in the EU and agree to intensify efforts to ensure their full membership in EU,” the document said.
We will remind, said the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. that the leaders of the EU countries may discuss the prospect of starting negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European community at the winter summit.
