Two young men, aged 22 and 27, who were posing as actors, were arrested this Thursday in Brazil for blackmail According to official sources, “married” and wealthy men divulge their intimate photos to their next of kin.

Two suspects offered services prostitution on platforms intended for the LGTBIQIA+ public, where they recruited their victims and they extorted gaining their trust, according to a note from Brazil’s civilian police.

The investigation, which lasted five months, revealed that they placed false ads in “cities throughout Brazil” and were looking for men of a certain profile: married and rich.

In Brazil, they posed as television actresses from Rio de Janeiro and targeted “customers with high purchasing power”, concentrating primarily on “businessmen” and “high-ranking officials”.

They have always followed the same modus operandi. The victim contacted via WhatsApp, and from there they exchanged messages with her and received her personal information.

Over time, they also shared photos and videos of a sexual nature, which the detainees kept for later use as weapons. blackmail.

Blackmailed bank transfers

When they decided they had enough material, the duo demanded a bank transfer of 3,000 to 10,000 reais ($600 to $2,000) from the victim if they wanted to keep it from reaching their relatives, “especially his wife, girlfriend, employees and close people. “.

The commissioner in charge of the case, Gleison Mascarenhas, told EFE that one of the victims “came to pay 16,000 reais ($3,000)”.

Those who refused to pay were sent their personal data, such as name, address and profession, which, according to official information, were obtained illegally on the dark web.

The two alleged actors were arrested in the city of São Paulo, where they lived, and could face up to 15 years in prison for each victim identified in court.
